The role is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of Human Resource functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compliance, and HR operations. The ideal candidate will have 3โ€“5 yearsโ€™ progressive HR experience within the Kenyan market, strong knowledge of labour laws, and proven ability to support a growing organization in driving people and culture initiatives. ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ The HR Manager/Officer will oversee and manage the end-to-end Human Resource function within the organization. This role is responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives to support a high-performance culture, while ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor laws. The position is critical in managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and HR administration in a growing financial services environment.

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent. ย ย 
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes (advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checks, onboarding). ย ย

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and disciplinary matters. ย ย 
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, OSHA, and other applicable Kenyan laws. ย ย

  • Implement and maintain a performance appraisal system to drive accountability and productivity. ย ย 
  • Provide coaching and support to line managers on performance management practices. ย ย

  • Assess training needs, design training plans, and coordinate employee development initiatives. ย ย

  • Administer payroll inputs, statutory deductions (NHIF, NSSF, PAYE), and benefits programs. ย ย

  • Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and HRIS systems. ย ย 
  • Prepare HR reports (headcount, attrition, leave, disciplinary cases, recruitment pipeline, etc.). ย ย

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field. ย ย 
  • CHRP (K) certification preferred. ย ย 
  • Member of IHRM Kenya (in good standing). ย ย 
  • 3โ€“5 yearsโ€™ progressive experience in HR generalist roles, preferably in financial services, microcredit, or related sectors. ย ย 
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices. ย ย 
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. ย ย 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. ย ย
